How do I select the right MacMic solution for my motor drive application?

For motor drive applications, MacMic recommends the 6TC series IGBT modules which offer excellent cost-performance ratio. Key selection criteria: (1) Voltage: 600V/650V for 400V AC systems, 1200V for 690V AC systems

(2) Current: Size based on motor power with 1.5-2x overload margin

(3) Switching frequency: 6TC series optimized for 5-15KHz typical motor drive operation

(4) Package: T1A for standard industrial drives, H1A for compact designs. Contact our FAE team for detailed application support.

What is the difference between MacMic HN series and 6TC series for welding applications?

For welding applications, MacMic offers two distinct IGBT series: (1) HN Series - Designed for high-frequency switching up to 50KHz, ideal for compact welding machines requiring fast dynamic response. The HN series enables smaller magnetic components and reduced system size but has slightly higher Vce(sat) of 2.0V. (2) 6TC Series - Optimized for cost-sensitive applications with switching frequencies of 5-15KHz, featuring lower Vce(sat) of 1.8V for better efficiency at lower frequencies. For high-performance welding requiring fast current control, choose HN series. For standard welding equipment where cost is critical, 6TC series offers excellent value.
